Deutsche Wohnen conducts tenants’ survey
Up until November 2019, the residential property company Deutsche Wohnen will be conducting a tenants’ survey in approximately 29,000 households in selected properties in Frankfurt am Main, Mainz and Berlin, and in a further 5,000 randomly selected households.

Deutsche Wohnen starts its 2020 tenants‘ survey
Today Deutsche Wohnen is starting a Germany-wide survey of 31,000 tenants in its residential properties. The survey will focus on the regions of Brunswick, Hanover, Dresden and Berlin-Hellersdorf, and all Deutsche Wohnen tenants in these regions will be invited to respond. The aim of the survey is to find out what tenants think of service provision, service quality and customer orientation with a view to making improvements in quality in response to these needs.

Deutsche Wohnen and borough council sign supplement to implementation contract
Today, Deutsche Wohnen and the Borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf signed a supplement to the city planning contract for the long-planned construction project in Westend. The focus of the agreements was that the protection afforded to existing tenants has once again been extended significantly.

Voluntary public takeover offer by Vonovia likely not successful
Today, Deutsche Wohnen SE (“Deutsche Wohnen”) has been informed that the takeover offer by Vonovia SE (“Vonovia”) published on June 23, 2021 will likely not be successful. The minimum acceptance level of at least 50 percent of the Deutsche Wohnen shares issued at the time of the expiry of the acceptance period will not be reached according to the current estimate. Deutsche Wohnen has taken notice of the shareholder decision and will analyse the situation and the next steps accordingly.

''Lotte + Kleist Estate'' in Potsdam-Babelsberg celebrates topping out ceremony
Today, the topping out ceremony took place for a further new-build project by Deutsche Wohnen in the capital of the state of Brandenburg. Close to the Griebnitzsee in Lotte-Laserstein-Straße, an estate with 138 rental flats and with space for commercial units, playgrounds and generously proportioned green spaces and parkland is under construction. The defining characteristic of the new estate is the comprehensive greening of its retention roofs, which will support the eco-system of the location in an innovative way. Tenants’ electricity and electromobility are also part of the sustainability concept. The construction work is being managed by QUARTERBACK Immobilien AG.

Deutsche Wohnen transfers areas in Krampnitz to the development agency Entwicklungsträger Potsdam
On the basis of the master plan for the development of a new residential district in Krampnitz, which was passed by the city council of Potsdam in April 2019, the state capital of Potsdam, Deutsche Wohnen SE and the city’s development agency Entwicklungsträger Potsdam have agreed on the return of some parts of the overall area to the development agency. This means that the municipality of Potsdam will regain control of new-build plots and also land with existing buildings in the eastern part of Krampnitz – including the former officers’ mess – with an overall area of approximately 50,000 m².

This can also be seen in our portfolio – at the four UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Horseshoe Estate, Weisse Stadt, the Carl Legien Estate and Siemensstadt Ring Estate. Harald Kegler, professor at the University of Kassel and urban planning expert, explains during an interview how closely associated Neues Bauen and Bauhaus are and how both have influenced social housing construction in Germany.

The city estate “Hofmark by the Olympic Park” celebrates topping out ceremony
In accordance with all the requirements of tradition, with a toast and a garland, the topping out ceremony for the new-build project “Hofmark by the Olympic Park” was celebrated today. The ceremony marks the last major milestone before construction work is completed. With its “Hofmark by the Olympic Park”, Deutsche Wohnen is building an integrated and sustainably designed estate in Preußenstraße in the Milbertshofen district of Munich that is suitable for both living and working. On an area of around 27,000 square metres, flats, offices, green spaces, a kindergarten and various commercial units are being created. The project is being realised by the project development company Isaria München Projektentwicklungs GmbH, a subsidiary of QUARTERBACK Immobilien AG.

A masterpiece that sets the standard
The Horseshoe Estate is one of Berlin’s best-known large housing estates and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its horseshoe shape didn’t just give the estate its name. It was also the basis for the GEHAG company logo – and now that of Deutsche Wohnen. GEHAG (Gemeinnützige Heimstätten-, Spar- und Bau-Aktiengesellschaft) also commissioned the famed Bauhaus architects Bruno Taut and Martin Wagner to plan and build this estate.
