  • Joint Arrangement for a Socially Responsible Refurbishment in Lichtenberg

    In the run-up to planned maintenance and modernization measures in Berlin-Lichtenberg, Deutsche Wohnen and the district office have reached a joint arrangement for implementing the measures in a socially responsible manner. The arrangement refers to Metastrasse 2–30 and contains, among other things, statements on maximum levels of rent, hardship cases and tenant communication. It was signed by Lars Urbansky, from the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen SE, and Kevin Hönicke, deputy district mayor and city councilman for urban development, citizens’ services, labor and social services.

    Deutsche Wohnen and the State of Berlin have reached an agreement on the sale of selected properties from the company's portfolio. The agreement, which Deutsche Wohnen has concluded with the three state companies HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH, degewo AG and Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH, comprises the sale of nearly 10,700 residential units and more than 200 commercial units in Berlin.

  • For the first time Deutsche Wohnen fits out an entire apartment building with a KIWI keyless entry system

    In February, Deutsche Wohnen completed the core refurbishment of the former women’s hall of residence of Hoechst AG in Heimchenweg, Frankfurt am Main. Following extensive restructuring work, the former hall of residence was converted into a micro-apartment building with 87 residential units. In addition to the many measures Deutsche Wohnen adopted to create this new housing, the company also invested in the digital infrastructure of the building in order to offer tenants greater convenience and to simplify the processes involved in managing the property. For the first time, all the doors of an apartment building of Deutsche Wohnen have been fitted with digital access technology. This project was carried out with the help of Arbonia, the leading door manufacturer, and KIWI, the provider of keyless entry systems.
