Deutsche Wohnen sells around 11,000 residential and commercial units to the State of Berlin
Deutsche Wohnen and the State of Berlin have reached an agreement on the sale of selected properties from the company's portfolio. The agreement, which Deutsche Wohnen has concluded with the three state companies HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH, degewo AG and Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH, comprises the sale of nearly 10,700 residential units and more than 200 commercial units in Berlin.

Deutsche Wohnen concludes cooperation agreement for strong districts in the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf
Deutsche Wohnen has agreed a common set of principles with a further Berlin borough concerning important questions about housing and construction. The “cooperation agreement for strong districts in the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf” was signed today by Cerstin Richter-Kotowski, the local borough mayor, Lars Urbansky, a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen, and Dr Kathrin Wolff, CEO of Deutsche Wohnen Management GmbH. Deutsche Wohnen has now concluded cooperation agreements with half of the boroughs in Berlin and aims to conclude more.

Deutsche Wohnen wants to be climate-neutral by 2040
Despite the challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic, Deutsche Wohnen can look back on a successful financial year 2020 and anticipates a robust performance in 2021. Building on its economic stability, the company is presenting an ambitious climate strategy to enable it to achieve climate-neutral holdings by 2040. A detailed climate pathway with clear milestones will create transparency for this strategy and will make our progress measurable. In addition, Deutsche Wohnen is driving its commitment to building new housing and is concentrating its project management capacities in a single, independent platform. With this platform, we are creating a centre of competence for sustainable new builds in Germany.

Deutsche Wohnen invests billions in new builds
Deutsche Wohnen can look back on a successful financial year 2019, to which all segments of the business contributed. The adjusted earnings before taxes improved by approximately 30% to EUR 704 million, and the property portfolio increased in value by EUR 1.4 billion. Key performance figures for the company improved as well (FFO I per share +10%, EPRA NAV per share +11%, LTV (loan-to-value ratio) 35.4%). In the reporting year, the rental growth was 3.4%, whereby in-place rents for existing tenants increased moderately in line with inflation by 1.5%.
